Building pathways where none existed

Amaru empowers job seekers and enriches enterprises by fostering equity and inclusion in the workforce.

Arturo Natella

Founder

Technologist, policy advocate, and workforce equity champion dedicated to building pathways for underrepresented talent.

I started Amaru because I saw how much of hiring and job searching is learned through trial and error. People are expected to know how to find a job or make a good hire, but most are figuring it out on their own.

My path here wasn't conventional. I've always been drawn to solving complex problems—first as a technologist, then tackling systemic challenges in politics and workforce policy. But the most important problem I ever faced was how talent gets discovered and developed.

Years ago, while working on a major political campaign, I connected with incredible people from immigrant and BIPOC communities across Massachusetts. After the campaign, I tried to find pathways for them—and for myself—by seeking guidance from established leaders. What I found were locked doors. The advice was often out of touch, and the system felt guarded by gatekeepers, not shared openly.

That frustration became my call to action: if the pathways aren't there, you have to build them.

Amaru didn't start as a big company. It began as a simple job listserv, a way to share real opportunities and honest guidance where it was desperately lacking. I was convinced that your potential shouldn't be dictated by who you know.

That conviction grew as I spent the next decade working on the problem from all angles—from shaping workforce policy at the Massachusetts State Legislature to designing inclusive hiring strategies for startups and Fortune 500 companies. I saw firsthand that the desire for fair systems was immense.

Today, Amaru is where those two worlds meet: my experience on both sides of the hiring table and a mission to make the process more human. We help job seekers understand how hiring really works, and we help employers build the fair, high-performing teams they need to grow.

What We Stand For

To us, this isn't just a platitude; it's a practice. We believe a real opportunity is more than a job title—it must be a foundation for growth. That's why every role Amaru champions is measured against our core principles:

Economic Fairness

Salaries that align with or exceed living standards

Professional Growth

Genuine mentorship and clear development opportunities

High-Growth Industries

Access to future-proof careers

Pathways for Advancement

Breaking down traditional career ceilings

This is just the beginning. The recognitions are nice, but our real success is measured in the careers we help launch and the communities we strengthen.
